Minimum complementary function credit is not assignable.

From Stems & Pieces

Vol 5 No 2 - Fall '87

The Collective Agreement in Article 11.01 F guarantees every faculty member will receive on every SWF issued a credit for a minimum of 5 hours for complementary functions. This is re-enforced by the inclusion of a special line on the SWF which says “Complementary Hours (allowance)/week (Minimum 5).''

As unbelievable as this may seem to you, some chairpersons are telling faculty that this only applies to persons who are ``teaching a full load''.

If this we say ``B.S. (Be Skeptical). Everyone is entitled to have every assignment recorded on an SWF; every SWF must include the “5 alive'', the form and the contract absolutely agree on this.

If your chairperson tries to short-change you, tic the box marked for referral to the College Workload Monitoring Group and complain that you are entitled to the full five hours.
